Whether a gift for a friend or relative, or for yourself, from memories to stories is a simple concept – I record memories for future generations to enjoy in the form of a picture memoir or story. I go to my story-teller’s home, sit with them, chat with them and listen. I save these memories as a video or an audio file and then go away and create the story using the recording, photographs and historical research. You then have a PDF document printed out and bound in a folder, or you can opt for a Kindle e-book or a beautifully presented hardback publication. You choose what is right for you. Every session and every finished memoir or story is unique.

I work with my story-teller from beginning to end on a one-to-one basis because it’s important to create a bond. Working alone also means I can keep my charges lower than other similar agencies. Look at how I work with you for a full explanation of the memory-gathering process as well as a clear breakdown of charges and my terms and conditions. At every stage of the process total confidentiality is a priority. Contact me if you have any questions at all.

A little bit about me: I’m a qualified historian with a PhD in history and currently hold the post of Visiting Fellow at the Open University. I also have a BSc (Hons) in the conservation of paper and 3-dimensional objects and a Masters by Research in material culture. My academic studies have been interspersed with years of work for museums and art galleries in curatorial, documentation and conservation roles. I’m an associate fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and a member of the Oral History Society and Malvern Family History Society. I  have received training from the Oral History Society and have extensive experience of writing, research and running reminiscence projects. Most importantly, I’m a very good listener.
